Now that it's Thanksgiving...

...I can post about Halloween!

A few weeks before the big day, some sweet friends of ours invited us over for a pumpkin-decorating party.  It was a lot of fun!  The best part was that other parents of small children know the best time to throw kid parties: 10:30am or 4:00pm.  The invitations should probably just read something like, "Hey everyone, let's get together and hang out after your toddler has taken a solid afternoon nap and call it quits about the time she turns into a river monster!  Hope to see you there!"

 Some acrobatics took place...
Stickers = the best option for craft-phobic moms who don't want to commit to paint or let their 3-yr-old handle a knife.
 One of the masterpieces

So I lied-- I bought one little thing of glow-in-the-dark paint.  Dave used it to paint the pumpkin stump.  Weirdo.

Halloween itself was a little bit weird for us this year.  Our community group's block party was cancelled due to rain, and we ended up hiding out at my folks' house at the last minute instead of passing out candy at our place.

Very exciting, I know.  As usual, photos are "borrowed" from Pawpaw.

 "I'm a beautiful bumblebee!"
The photo session lasted longer than the trick-or-treating...
  Pre-trick-or-treating snack.  So healthy.
I may or may not have been caught hiding the Oreos I bought to pass out to neighbor children so that I could take them home and eat them all myself.  I also may or may not have showered that day.
More snacks.  Fueling up for the long trek to the house next door.
One of us bathed before this particular evening.  One of us went to the gym that morning and changed into dry clothes without showering.  I'll let you guess which one.
Apparently she's the biggest diva in our house.  This can't be taught.
Proud g-parents.  Nana had to find a bucket suitable for candy collection at the last minute!  Pawpaw claimed it wasn't big enough.
 Cheap thrills.
Why yes, Dave did bring a snack for the road.  Let's just say the apple doesn't fall too far from the Livingston tree.

So, you may have noticed by now that these photos only included 1/2 of our children.  This hot mess had to be put into bed around 6:00pm due to severe craziness.
Scary.
