Mah!

Remember how I told you that my baby growls at me when I feed her?  Well now, she's downright crazy.  You see, I started saying "more" and using the sign at some point in an attempt to give her something productive to do instead of the growling.  Well, she never picked up the sign, but she says "mah" all the time now.  In fact, she totally stopped saying "mama" in exchange for "more." Kid loves to eat.

"Mah" = "Give me that NOW."

Just in case you don't believe me, here is some video footage.  It's pretty typical for Myla to throw a fit while I'm eating until I say "Do you want some more?"  She then turns into a mature baby saying "mah mah mah."  The "mah" must be answered by an immediate bite, or else she lets you have it.  You can even see it here when I decided to take my bite instead of giving one to her.  So greedy.

(Yes, I know she's naked.  My baby is always naked.  Life is easier that way).

One Step Closer to Minivan Ownership...

Some of you might be wondering, "How many pregnancies will it take for the Livingstons to learn their lesson?"

The answer is apparently: at least two.  That's right y'all.  We're having another baby!  And yes, we know how they're made.  Apparently, birth control is at least 99% effective when used.  So, there ya go.

At this point, I am about 90% excited and 10% terrified.  (This is up from a much more evenly split percentage...)  But, it helps to remember that there are many, many parents who have gone before us!  There are plenty of people with children 17 months apart, right?  I think it has happened to Michelle Duggar at least ten times, and she seems cool with it.  Goodness gracious, there are even women who have two babies at the same time.  Bless their hearts.

If God has taught me anything with Myla, it's that children are a blessing. So thank you, Lord, for another blessing!

Here is the little Boo now:

Does it look like a black blob to you, too?  Ok, good.  At this point, I am about 9 weeks along.  We are spilling the beans a lot earlier than last time for a couple of reasons:
  1. I literally got fatter the day I peed on the stick.
  2. If I puke on your shoes, you should know why.
  3. I might randomly start crying during a song, sentimental commercial, or episode of Parenthood.  You'll think I'm weird.
We would love to have your prayers for the littlest Livingston and for our growing family!

101 Ten on Tuesdays

Questions for Tuesday, October 11, 2011!
Provided by Kristen at St. Monica’s Bridge!

Link up here.

All about Pasta (YES!!!)

1. Red Sauce or White Sauce?

White.  The higher the fat content, the more I like it.

2. Do you prefer pasta you can twirl or stab?

I appreciate both equally.  But there's nothing like a good pasta twirl, with some possible slurpage afterward.

3. Baked or boiled?

Boiled.

4. Do you like meat in your sauce or do you kick it vegetarian style?

Yes.  I'm cool with meat, but if I wasn't married to the biggest carnivore I know, then I would probably nix the meat in most pasta dishes.

5. Where have you had your very best pasta ever?

This is a tough one.  I'm sure there are many more than this one, but I pretty much loved the mac-n-cheese at Max's Wine Dive in Houston.  Their tagline is "Fried chicken and champagne-- why the hell not?"  That pretty much sums up my taste in food.

6. What is your favorite pasta dish?

It would be cruel to name just one, but I would have to go with a classic like fettuccini alfredo or macaroni and cheese.

7. Do you serve meatballs when you make spaghetti or just do a meat sauce?

I don't usually make spaghetti with red sauce, but when I do, I usually use the butter, onion, tomato recipe.  OR, I use a lovely little packet of Tastefully Simple spices my cousin gave me and throw it in a cheap can or tomato sauce...  So, neither meat sauce nor balls.

8. Why type (rice, whole wheat, egg, etc) of noodles do you use?

Dave doesn't like whole wheat, so we we usually stick with regular spaghetti or the colorful spiral noodles.

9. What type of meats or vegetables do you put in your sauce?

Uh, tomato.

10. Do you make a “Sunday gravy” to use throughout the week or do you just open a jar of whatever and heat it up? (No judgment on this one!)

Ha!  I've never heard it put that way.  I don't make pasta too often, so I usually make a sauce, unless I've got the magic Tastefully Simple seasoning.  AND, Dave has made fun of me too many times for me to ever attempt to use the Philadelphia cooking cremes again.

"Partyin, Partyin, Yeah!"

  • I almost decided not to post because well, I can't think of much to say.  Also, I haven't taken any pictures recently!
  • My boo had her first ear infection a couple weeks ago.  We finished her yummy antibiotic a while back, and I finally made the follow-up appointment so that my mom and Dave won't be mad at me for being a bad mama.
  • My cousin asked me if I was throwing Myla a birthday party, and that's literally the first time it even occurred to me.  Most parents probably celebrate their child's first year of life, right???  I need to figure something out, stat.
  • My in-laws are coming for a little visit next weekend.  Do you know what this means??  It means that I bought all the ingredients for my father-in-law to make meatloaf so Dave can have one night of happiness.
  • Like most Americans, I think it's sad that we lost Steve Jobs (even though I refuse to get an Iphone, ever).  I think it is sad that anyone so young should die of such a horrible disease.  But, I did think it was kind of funny to hear Tom Brokaw say, "In a secular way, he was kind of a spiritual leader."   Hmm, semantics.
  • Dave and I started streaming 30 Rock, and it's amazing.  I'm not really sure who has a bigger crush on Tina Fey at this point, Dave or myself.  We have yet to start a new drama series (since the Gilmore days ended).
  • My child growls at me.  I feed her a bite of food, and she does this ugly growl thing at me!  How do I get her to stop?  Seriously, how?
  • I'm out.  But I should retell the only funny dialogue of the week I can remember:
This took place in the car:
Me: Why did you change the Rascal Flatts song?
Dave:  Why would I want to listen to that?
Me: Well, you put in on your playlist.
Dave:  See, Rascal Flatts is like Hoobastank.  If they happen to come on, cool, but I wouldn't choose to listen to their song...
Me:  I'm offended. Rascal Flatts is not like Hoobastank.

100th ToT Weekiversary

It's Ten on Tuesday again!  Link up at Chelsea's blog.  She wrote the questions, and if you want to join, it's your last chance to win the giveaway.

1. How do you take your coffee?
Daily, strong, with cream and sugarSometimes in frappuccino form.

2. Do you prefer soft or crispy chocolate chip cookies?

Soft! The only time I will drink a glass of milk is with warm, gooey cookies.  Excuse me, I need to go bake some now....

3. Do you wear a belt everyday?

No. I wear a belt if my shirt isn't very long and I'm afraid my butt is going to fall out of my pants.  So just every now and then.

4. What is your favorite color combination?

I'm not sure.  I guess it would depend on the occasion.  My favorite color in general is blue.

5. Do you like sour candy?

     Nope.

6. How often do you do laundry?
3 times a week if I'm keeping up pretty well.  If not, then I let it pile up until the weekend and grumpily play catchup on Sunday.

7. Did you ever wear braces?
Yes.  I got my braces in 8th grade right after everyone I knew got theirs taken off.  I wore them for about a year and a half and had them taken off my sophomore year on September 11, 2011 with the news playing in the background.

8. Are you good at Roman Numerals?
Probably not.  I could maybe make it to 19 if it looks like XVIIII.  If that's not right, then I'm really bad at them.

9. What is your favorite form of social media?

Facebook. It's a goal of mine to stay away from twitter.  I'm not even sure why anymore.  But if I was on it, I would definitely follow Ellen Degeneres.

10. How do you feel about chin dimples?
I have never thought about this before.  But I guess in general, I think dimples are cute.  Especially baby butt dimples.
