Pregnancy Updates (a.k.a. Let's Get this Show on the Road)

How far Along: 36 weeks, 5 days (I count every day at this point)...

Size of baby: Pretty much the size of a baby, I think.  The bump.com says she is a coconut these days.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Brace yourselves.  37 pounds.  I feel as though it's a little late to start working out now...  But in my defense, I weighed like 4 pounds less on my own scale this morning than I did at the doctor's office yesterday.  Either way, it's terrifying, I know.

Maternity clothes: Yes, and also some of Dave's clothes.

Gender: GIRL!

Movement: Yes!  The kind of movement that makes you gasp, run to the bathroom, or wonder if your child will be a kickboxing prodigy.

Sleep: I sleep ok...

What I miss:  Agility.

Cravings: The usual, but apparently a LOT of the usual, hence the weight gain part.

Symptoms: If there were a word for pregnancy that has a similar meaning to "senioritis," that would be my answer.

Best Moment this Week: I just went to the doc for my 36-week appointment.  I asked him if he was going to check for any dilation.  He usually doesn't do that until about 38 weeks, but he would if I wanted him to.  Well, I was already wearing a paper sheet for my strep B test, so why the heck not?  I could tell he thought it might be a bit weird, because he said: "If you want to go through the pain of the exam, then ok."

I said, "Uh, I don't think you're going to hurt me."
So, he checked and said, "Oh, you're one of those women who walks around dilated.  You're about 2 cm, 50% effaced."
Precisely.
"Yea, for a couple weeks.  I just wanted to make sure I won't have to go the entire 40 weeks."
He said, "There's no way you're making it 40 weeks."

Thank you, Jesus.
