Just a Few Thoughts

On pregnancy and child rearing:
  • I don't think it's realistic to tell pregnant women that they shouldn't lick brownie batter.
  • On a related note, I will no longer be volunteering to make dessert for our community group.  It only results in the consumption of at least 5 total brownies (cooked/uncooked) before even making it to group.
  • For the first time the other day, I found myself falling asleep on the couch while watching my baby.  She was playing only feet away from me, but I could feel myself drifting into dreamland every now and then only to be awoken by a "Mama?" and a sweet face staring at me.  I have never felt worse about myself.  I was certain that CPS would come knocking at my door at any minute.  Praise Jesus, we survived, and Myla went down for a late nap so I could rest and become a new creation without mommy guilt.

On man and his apps:
We have a first-generation Ipad that Dave uses most of the time.  He likes to waste time playing random games (much like I waste time on Facebook).  Anyway, I decided to try and find an app or two that Myla could use.  I was looking for something really simple with shapes or colors or something.  So, I fumbled around and made my way to the App store (only after asking Dave, "How do I get to the app store??").  I searched for free "baby" apps, and looked at some that had good ratings.  I ended up downloading "Rescue Fluffy," because Myla likes puppy dogs.  Well, it was a bust.  It was far too complicated for a baby, but I didn't know how to delete it, so I left it there.  The next night, I spied Dave playing an unfamiliar game.  Sure enough, he was rescuing Fluffy.  Twenty  minutes later, I saw him doing things like adopting a saint bernard from the shelter and grooming fluffy.  I'll let you know if he makes a successful rescue or not.

On having low standards in life:
  • I can't stop streaming Sister Wives.

  2. I always love your posts; they are so funny! We have an AWESOME (and free) black and white flash card app for Harry. Myla is probably too old for it, but your next kiddo might enjoy it.

And I'm ashamed of myself, too, but I can't help myself from watching Sister Wives either. Maybe because it is so disturbing that I'm like horridly fascinated? i don't know... lol
