Parenting Firsts: The Stomach Bug Edition

Poor Myles got hit with the pukes yesterday.  Genius Mama thought, "Oh man, this milk must be bad already" as she puked up her entire morning sippy cup.  After the next barf session 30 minutes later, brilliant ad said "Oh yea, you're not going to church today."

In short, a sweet baby with a virus increases your laundry tenfold and breaks your dadgum heart.  When my boo was throwing up and crying, it made me cry, too!  So much for being a relaxed parent.  It seems today that she is done getting sick, but I am also basically starving her per doctor's recommendation.  Now the pobrecita who loves food as much as her daddy is walking around the kitchen crying every few minutes because I haven't fed her anything in a while.  Thank you Lord for making this a quick virus.

Maybe it sounds like a leap, but watching my sick baby has made me think a lot about Jesus.  Maybe it's the pregnancy hormones, but when you're sobbing over your child throwing up all morning, you wonder how God watched his son be slaughtered on a cross.  It's so much bigger.  It's so crazy.

Crazy love.

  1. Baby,

This made me cry too! My Baby is growing up! Crazy love is right, there is nothing in my life that gave me more insight into God's love than loving my own kids. No way I could sacrifice you two for anything or anyone. This reminds me of Kristen's first bug where she said, "Daddy, I don't want to frow up anymore." It was the first thing Daddy couldn't fix.

    Love ya big!
